Debunking the Myths About Fabric Weight and Warmth
Many people think heavier fabric always keeps you warmer. But this is not true. Let me tell you a key word first: loft.
Fleece keeps us warm not because it is heavy, but because it traps air. Think of warm fabric like a net. The fluffier the fibers are, the more still air they hold. Air stops cold wind and keeps our body heat inside. It is a great material to stay warm.
I did a simple test. A thick fleece of 300 grams per square meter felt heavy and tight. Yet it was less warm than a lighter 220 grams fleece with soft, fluffy fibers. Heavy and stiff fabric is tiring to wear, and it does not let your skin breathe well.
The four procurement traps I've revealed for you.

Trap 1: Thick fabric does not mean good quality

Some sellers add cheap rough recycled polyester to make fabric heavier. It looks thick, but feels hard and stiff. Good fleece should be soft and stretchy like clouds, not hard like cardboard. Always touch and rub the fabric before you buy.

Trap2: Lies about anti-pilling quality

Many people say their fabric never pills easily. Do not just take their word for it. Ask for real test reports. Fabrics graded Level 3 and Level 4 are very different after being washed ten times. I only choose Level 4 or higher. Bad pilling makes clothes look cheap soon.

Trap3: Static electricity trouble

This is very important. In dry winter, clothes may make crackling sounds and small sparks when you take them off. Always check if the fabric has anti-static treatment. Good fabric adds special threads or materials to stop static electricity.

Trap 4: Shrinkage and color fading problems

Many clothes become too short after washing. Some fleece also leaks dye and stains other clothes. Before buying, check the data carefully. The shrinkage rate should be below 3%, and color fastness needs to reach Level 4 at least. Small problems like these will ruin a good brand.

How do we create a procurement plan?

The most expensive fabric is not always the best. Choose fabric based on how you will use it.
For outdoor clothes: I do not pick overly thick fabric. I choose mixed fabrics, such as fleece with special waterproof layers. They block wind and let air pass through.
For home wear: I focus more on soft fibers and anti-static effect. I want people to feel comfy and gentle the moment they put the clothes on.
because focus so professional.
