Sewing with fleece fabric can be so enjoyable and makes all sorts of warm and cozy items for the home or to keep you comfortable throughout the year. Well, Rarfusion is here to help with some expert tips on making the most difficult of all fabrics simple in a language you understand ways to work with Fleece. Without any further, let get started!!.
The main thing with sewing on fleece is the right thread. Choosing what set of thread to use is one way of ensuring that your seams are given the best strength and life. Below are some guidelines to choose best thread for seams:
Use a heavier-weight thread. A heavier thread can give you much better support along with your seams. This will help to make them more sturdy and they hopefully last longer, esp. with whatever you use it for lots of times like mine!!!
Pick a matching color. This is your choice, but I will choose either Black or Grey to match the fleece and make my seams look nice. If you have topstitching, and want it to pop more noticeably (give contrast), then using a colour that is significantly different from your fabric will achieve this.
Use fusible tape. Fusible tape: This one is a special kind of roll that you can go over your fabric with an iron. It is great for not having to sew a hem! It is one of fastest and easy step to complete your project well.
Fleece hats. These include making warm, comfortable fleece hats. This beanie is just perfect for winter and they can also be add your own fun make them pop with pom-poms or tassels to really customise into a one off piece.
WASH SEPARATELY (along with anything else that might shred) If fleece is washed with linty items — or if it goes through the wash in a super-lint-environment like my Bouncer-prone dryer, then it can be difficult to get much of that off.
