Have you ever felt the wool of a lamb? It is so warm, soft and cozy which makes it a perfect winter recipe. You can swagger it around your body and think, " This would feel great against my skin". Sure, lamb's fleece is soft and warm; but did you know there was more to it than that? The reality is that lamb's fleece has many amazing qualities which we can all reap the benefits of.
Lambets are young sheep that we call lambs. I Farmers grow these lambs over time and on cleaning up the wool of them each year. Observational time spent watching the town weigh-in and shear their lambs, like we do… Frisch auf die Bahn! Once the wool has been sheared, it is processed for incorporation. It is cleaned at first; dirt and other such elements are wiped off. The hair is then brushed to give it more volume. And, for every skein of yarn I spun from those clean and combed bundles. According to an anthropologist, the yarn is valuable because it can be made into so much — clothing for warmth and comfort; blankets, also warm and comforting; shaggy floor coverings that the humble underclass (Jane Franklin called them 'Fishes Soft & Clean') thought of as luxury items.
The fleece from the lamb is excellent for making clothes and other home wares. To begin with, it is outright soft and comfortable to wear. You can feel as comfy wearing lamb's fleece clothing all day long. It also offers thermal qualities to keep you warm in the winter and cool during summer. So i can be worn in different seasons and keep the lamb's wool feel.
Lambswool is not only soft; it's also very durable. This resilience allows products made from lamb's wool to last a long while before the material starts breaking out. The lanolin found in lamb's fleece makes the wool incredibly soft and gentle, so this is a common characteristic when used for blankets or pillows that must be very comfortable. It's no wonder that when you are wrapped in a blanket of lamb fleece gives the sensation of being hugged!
Lamb's fleece is wool that has the best of both worlds, strength and fineness. It was strong because it was from young sheep that had not yet been worn and torn, like older sheep are. This is why the wool they shear remains in great shape. The soft touch is ascribed to the delicate inner layer of wool from a sheep's coat that brushes up against your face.
However, the unique feature of lamb's fleece is that it retains heat. During winter, it snuggles you by retaining your body heat between its fibers that will increase comfort even at low temperature. When it is hot, the shirt sucks out that moisture pulling heat from your body and through evaporation helps keep you cool. This will allow for keeping ducts in polar fleece 365 days a year; it works with the weather.
